Definition:
Linear Equation An equation whose graph is a line.

Graph 2y=4x-8
y = 2x-4
It is best to first solve the equation for y. (get y alone on one side of the equation) 

In this case, this can be done by dividing both sides by 2.

Pick 5 different values for x, and calculate the corresponding values for y based on the given equation. It is wise to pick zero, some positives and some negatives.
