Course Description from Catalog:
Mathematics 120: Precalculus (4 credits)
 
Fundamental principles of college algebra and trigonometry essential to the study of calculus. Emphasis on functions and their graphs, including polynomials, rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, trigonometric functions. (Prereq: placement)

The focus of this course is to continue algebra concepts above second year Algebra. Students will learn to apply mathematics and logic for making decisions in personal and professional life. This course develops the Curriculum competencies of 1) expressing mathematical/logical ideas in writing; 2) applying higher-order problem solving; 3) evaluating mathematical and logical arguments; and 4) illustrating historical and contemporary applications of mathematical system.
